MCAWW is committed to making positive impacts in our local communities regarding Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB), improving diversity and inclusion at our apprenticeship and training centers and promoting strategies that improve inclusion and belong both in the office and in the field.
Background:
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) initiatives are an important part of society and the mechanical construction and service industry. To provide our members with relevant services, and to continue to be an industry leader, MCAWW formed a DEI Task Force to address this complex topic.
We realize that implementation of DEIB practices in member firms may be very different based on size, resources, and philosophy. It is not a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Our goal is to support our member firms in this journey by providing education and a framework to affect sustained change. As defined in the Task Force charter: “The purpose of the Task Force is to establish and provide individual companies information, direction, and education to guide DEIB initiatives while maintaining independent alignment with their vision, purpose, and strategic plan.”
In 2023, our Board formed a standing DEIB Committee to continue on with the Taskforce's work.
Vision Statement:
MCAWW will influence change by providing members support to guide their Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging initiatives within their firms. The result is an industry-leading commitment to DEIB.
