INTRO TO BLUEPRINT READING


Description:

This course will improve comprehension of contract documents for all attendees. It will
include how to read and decipher blueprints and specifications, as well as how to find and manage common discrepancies.

Topics covered:

  • Learn how all other sets of drawings impact our work and what to look for to
    mitigate this risk.

  • Complete a scavenger hunt activity involving MEP (wet side and dry side),
    Architectural, Structural, and Civil drawings and specifications.

  • Perform a drawing version review - schematic drawings (SD), design
    development (DD) and construction documents (CD).

  • Review lessons learned in an effort to avoid common contract document conflicts, errors and omissions

 

Benefits:

  • Upon completion of this program, students will be able to confidently understand where to find specific components of a project within the contract documents, as well as strategies to avoid the most common discrepancies found in almost every set of documents.

MCAWW REFUND POLICY

  • Cancellation by attendee 14 or more days prior to the start date of an event or training program: 100% refund.
  • Cancellation by attendee 7-13 days prior to the start date of an event or training program: 50% refund.
  • No refund will be given for cancellations less than 7 days prior to the start date of an event or training program. If cancellation is due to illness or emergency, credit may be extended for a future event or training program. 
  • In the event that MCA of Western Washington cancels an event or training program, a full refund will be provided.
