Internships / Employment

An internship represents an important opportunity for both the student and the employer. It’s a chance for the intern to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom, learn valuable on-the-job skills, make important contacts and develop business etiquette. For the employer, an internship represents an opportunity to showcase your firm and to build a relationship with a prospective employee.

In order for the internship experience to be successful for both parties, MCAWW recommends the following guidelines:

MCAWW SUBSIDY & MCAA GRANT: FUNDS TO HELP PAY FOR INTERNS

Apply for both the Internship Subsidy and the Internship Grant to help your company pay for its summer interns.

MCAWW Internship Subsidy
MCA of Western Washington is offering three $1,000 Intern Subsidies to Contractor Member firms. (Priority will be given to firms who did not receive a MCAWW Subsidy in 2010 or 2011. Otherwise, subsidies will be awarded to the first three contractors to apply.)

MCAA Internship Grant
MCAA is offering a grant in the amount of $1,200 to match a portion of a student intern’s salary.

If you are interested in procuring an internship with a mechanical contractor, please submit your contact information, cover letter and resume to tbutler@mcaww.net.  Your request will be forwarded to interested employers.
