Internships / Employment

 An internship represents an important opportunity for both the student and the employer. It’s a chance for the intern to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom, learn valuable on-the-job skills, make important contacts and develop business etiquette. For the employer, an internship represents an opportunity to showcase your firm and to build a relationship with a prospective employee.

In order for the internship experience to be successful for both parties, MCAWW recommends the following guidelines:

NOW AVAILABLE: MCAA Internship Grant
These grants are available to mechanical construction, service or plumbing contractors or manufacturers and suppliers to the mechanical construction industry offering internships at their company to qualified applicants. Click here for more information.

NOW AVAILABLE: MCAWW Internship Subsidy
MCA of Western Washington is offering a $2,000 Intern Subsidy to the first 5 Contractor Member firms to apply. The $2,000 must be used to subsidize the wages of a summer intern from a Construction Management or related program from CWU, UW or WSU. Contractors who are interested should complete the application and submit it to MCA by May 14, 2010. Click here to download application form.
