Academic Relations
|
The MCAWW Academic Relations Committee promotes industry awareness, facilitates recruitment of interns and employees, and builds collaboration with educational institutions. MCA of Western Washington recognizes that today’s young Construction Management and Engineering students are tomorrow’s industry professionals. Since our universities represent our future labor pool, we must do everything we can to raise awareness about the mechanical contracting industry and facilitate the recruitment of this outstanding talent. The MCAWW Academic Relations Committee is responsible for overseeing the activities of three student chapters (Central Washington University, the University of Washington, and Washington State University). The committee is also responsible for developing internship programs, awarding MCAWW scholarships, and promoting the mechanical contracting industry through events such as career fairs, guest speaking, and jobsite tours. MCA of Western Washington further strengthens the alliance between our schools and the mechanical contracting industry by providing grants to Construction Management departments to enhance their programs. The MCAWW Academic Relations Committee has worked hard to reach many important goals over the past eight years. In recognition of their achievements, the committee was awarded the 2003 MCAA Best Practices award, recognizing excellence in affiliated association programs and services. |
